Our Web Design Process

We simplify the process of getting a website designed.

This allows you to focus your time on running your business while we put together a site that accurately reflects your business goals. Here’s our tried and tested 5 step process to getting your new website up and running:

Step 1 – The Interview

Time for QuestionsThe first step is the initial interview or questionnaire. This gives us a chance to learn about you and your business. We learn what’s unique to your industry and what your customers expect from your brand. This process helps to define the goals for your website so you can have clear expectations of what your website will help you acheive.

We gather together any company logos, existing brochures and other business data so the website we put together stays in line with your existing business identity. This is where we talk about your goals

At this point, if you haven’t already registered your domain name, we would probably get this taken care of for you.

Step 2 – The Drawing Board

Once we have a good understanding of your business, we can begin to work our magic.

Our design team will put together a few original web layout mockups. These designexample mockup thumbnail. Actual mockup images are much larger :) mockups will give you an idea of how your site will look with your logo, your company colors.

Think of the mockups as “springboards”. While you may find that one of our mockups is exactly what you’re looking for, more often than not, you will require a few changes, tweaks or modifications to what we’ve come up with. That’s ok and expected :)

We will fine tune the mockup so that it meets your final approval.

Step 3 – The Coding Stage

Once you’ve approved a design for your website, we take the design image and create a fully functional HTML based webpage from that layout.

The HTML Coding stageWe test the layout to make sure that it works in all major web browsers, we kick the tires, setup the links, and add some of your text content (store hours, welcome message, menu, map to your business, etc).

We then setup your web hosting account and upload the HTML files to a private viewing location on our server. We invite you to take a peek and suggest any changes.

Once we have the OK, we put the final touches on your new website!

Step 4 – Making it Shine!

In this step we make sure all our i’s are dotted and our t’s are crossed.

Making it ShineWe finish all the pages of your site, add the appropriate META tags and TITLE information to help your site get found in the search engines. After this step you will have a fully functional website.

Step 5 – Site Launch

After you approve the final product, we’re ready to launch.

To help introduce customers to your web prescence and to keep your website working for you, it’s a good idea to add your new website address to all of your business marketing materials:

  • bullet point icon Print Ads
  • bullet point icon Business Cards /Stationary
  • bullet point icon Store Signage
  • bullet point icon Brochures / Take Out Menus

We will also begin promoting your website in the search engines to help new customers find you in Google, Yahoo and the other major search engines. Search engines can take anywhere from weeks to months to update their search index results. You can expect your new website to start showing up in searches within 4-6 weeks on average.

We will continue working with you to help keep your site updated. We setup most websites so they can be easily updated by the client via a web browser, however if you’d like us to maintain your website, we can provide maintenance services for a small monthly fee.
